The Central Bank of Somalia was first established on June 30, 1960, under Decree No. 3, and later formalized through Law No. 2 on January 13, 1961. Since its inception, the Bank has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s financial foundation.

Guided by its core mandate, the Bank is committed to:

  • Preserving the internal and external value of the Somali Shilling
