About READO (Rural Education and Agricultural Development Organization)
READO is a non‑profit humanitarian organization established in 2008 in Somalia. It supports vulnerable communities, especially in the Southwest region, by providing emergency aid and long-term development programs. READO focuses on helping people affected by conflict, climate shocks, poverty, and displacement.
The organization delivers a range of services, including:
- Food Security and Livelihoods: Improving access to food and supporting vulnerable farmers.
- Education: Supporting school feeding, infrastructure, teacher training, and vocational skills development.
- Health and Nutrition: Providing essential healthcare services and nutrition support, especially for mothers and children.
- WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene): Ensuring access to safe water and sanitation facilities.
- GBV and Protection: Promoting the safety and dignity of survivors of gender-based violence.
